ABOUT ME
I came to therapy in an unconventional way.

I was on the straight and narrow, carefully laying the foundation for a life-long career in law, when I suddenly found myself signing my name on the dotted line to join the military as an Officer in the Royal Marines, upon graduating University.
This surprised everyone, (most of all me!).
After reaching the penultimate stage of recruitment however, I withdrew my application.
I was searching for something, but the military wasn’t it.
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel like a failure.
After what seemed like so many false starts, I wondered whether I’d ever gain traction, or perpetually find myself with my wheels spinning, sinking deeper into the mud.
It was only at this lowest point, that I felt able to finally grant myself permission to consider what I wanted, rather than search for a top-down prescription of what it was I should do.
Shortly after, I found myself diving into the world of depth psychology, which upon intense study, culminated in a 3-month long road-trip wild camping across the United States, with two other (male) Hypnotherapists in training. It was in this experience, an impromptu initiation among peers as we pushed one another to confront ourselves each night around the fire, that I found what I was searching for.
Namely, an identity, (rooted in my own masculinity), derived through the act of supporting other men in what can often be the difficult and sometimes painful task of meeting themselves on the inside, so that they may develop a deeper, broader sense of self, and be empowered to re-engage with the world with renewed confidence, purpose and vitality.
Since gaining my diploma in Hypnotherapy, I have worked with many people (men) of different ages, each suffering from varying issues, including - anxiety, depression, mid-life career changes and the effects of childhood trauma to name a few.
I am registered with the National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists, as well as the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council. I am fully insured and attend regular supervision to maintain the high standards of my practice.
